Wildflowers Come Back = Free Friday & Saturday!
Yes, you read that right. I’ve decided to use two of my ‘free’ promotion days as a part of the KDP Select program. Recently I’ve taken some time to talk with other authors about their experiences with putting their book(s) up for free. Some of the experiences have been positive, some have been so-so, and of course there have been a few who totally poo-pooed the idea. After a lot of internal debating I said “What the hell!” and decided to give it a shot.
So… I’m excited to announce that the Wildflowers Come Back ebook will be available for FREE on Amazon for the next two days: Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th. (I figured Friday the 13th just might prove to be a lucky day for me).
I’m really hoping that this two day promotion proves to be successful in kicking my book’s ass up in the rankings thus giving it more visibility to a wider audience. I am invested in the Wildflowers Come Back series, and a crazy thing has happened since the release of book #1: Other people have become invested as well. It’s a beautiful, exciting, and strangely frightening thing… and I hope each of you who have read WCB know how deeply appreciative I am to you. Thank you.
At the time of this posting Wildflowers Come Back is currently ranking #273,483 paid in Amazon.com Kindle Store and #178,371 paid in the Amazon.co.uk Kindle Store. (See the screenshots below). My best rank was somewhere around the 45,000 mark on the Amazon.com Kindle Store which occurred about a week ago. Definitely not a ranking to write home about, but a better ranking than my current one nonetheless.

If you haven’t read Wildflowers Come Back…now is your chance. Please stop by Amazon on either Friday or Saturday to score your FREE copy of Wildflowers Come Back. Read it. Let me know what you think. If you have already read Wildflowers Come Back please help me out by telling people you know about this free offer. Let’s see how far we can kick WCB up in the rankings…and let’s see how long WCB can stay there after the promotion ends.
Here’s to hoping that my experience with the free promotion becomes one of the positive ones.

Wildflowers Come Back Goes Amazon Exclusive!
Starting today the Wildflowers Come Back ebook has officially gone Amazon exclusive as a part of the KDP Select program. The ebook will remain Amazon exclusive for at least the next 90 days. If after that I feel there is a strong enough call from readers to once again offer Wildflowers Come Back for Nook on Barnes & Noble then I will reconsider the Amazon exclusivity. Until then feel free to send me your opinions.

New Wildflowers Come Back Cover + Announcement
As you all know I’ve been working on the Wildflowers Come Back sequel which is titled Wildflowers Come Back: Karmic Flames and is set to be released in March. During the process of writing Karmic Flames a desire for cohesiveness between the two books and their covers has really been tugging at me. After a lot of thinking, analyzing and procrastinating I’ve come to the decision to give book one (Wildflowers Come Back) a brand spanking new cover. You’ll notice similarities between the new cover and the old cover, as the new cover is not a complete departure from the old, but rather an improvement on the old. I’m in love with the new WCB cover, and I hope you guys love it too. Please tell me what you think!
Over the next week you will notice the updated cover on both the paperback and the ebook available on Amazon. However, the cover updates will not be reflected on any of the other ebook retailer websites. Why? Starting in January the Wildflowers Come Back ebook will be going Amazon exclusive. The decision to go Amazon exclusive was based on several factors. In the future I may choose to expand back out to other retailers for my ebooks, but for the time being I will be giving Amazon exclusivity a shot. BUT…you still have until January to score Wildflowers Come Back on any of the other retailers including Barnes & Noble and Smashwords.
Wildflowers Come Back Sequel…Coming Soon!
You’ve asked for it… and now it’s coming your way! The Wildflowers Come Back sequel will be ready for your eyes in a mere 100 days. The release date is set for March 27th, 2012! That’s right, I said 100 days. You can count that on 20 hands!
Wildflowers Come Back: Karmic Flames is the sequel to Wildflowers Come Back which was released back in September. Karmic Flames follows Lyss as she finally sees the world, but even the beauty of Rome can’t hold her attention and heal her heart as her mind continually wanders back to the High Desert Crest Inn and the love she lost. In a city so far away from home, Lyss finds a connection to the Anubis Four and begins to discover who she used to be. Will Lyss create a new life for herself? Or will she find the courage to face her past?
As the days and weeks go on I will post more information and plenty of teasers. Until then, I would like to introduce you to the cover for Wildflowers Come Back: Karmic Flames…
Wildflowers Come Back Paperback Now Available!
Since the end of September I’ve been doing a dance with the files for the Wildflowers Come Back paperback; more specifically the cover file. (The interior file is and always has been badass perfection.) However, unlike the book interior, the cover had a few minor issues. The initial paperback proof had a slight aesthetic problem: it was too damn dark. I had a feeling it might be when I initially submitted it, and lo and behold it was. No problem. Just lighten it. Sounds simple, right? It is…when you’re in the right frame of mind and can let go of your artistic ego just enough to accept that maybe your “artistic vision” doesn’t translate well to the printer.
Artistic Ego 1 – Actual Progress 0.
After a lot of frustration I put the cover file aside and promised myself I’d come back to it when I was more level-headed. Needless to say, that ‘more level-headed’ status didn’t take up residence until sometime last week. But once it did, I got to work lightening the shit out of that cover and crossed my fingers as I ordered the new proof.
Fast forward to today when said proof arrived in my mailbox. I nearly tripped over my own feet as I rushed inside and plopped down in my desk chair to rip open the neatly taped cardboard. If this one isn’t right…screw it. Thankfully it was right. More than right. It was perfect.

I’m happy to announce that the Wildflowers Come Back paperback is now available on CreateSpace and Amazon.com. Soo….go buy it, y’all!
PS: I had someone ask me if the paperback photos were taken with the book on top of paper towels. Answer? No. That’s a blanket, you crazies.
